US Business Magazine Fortune prepared a list of 20 most-admired global companies recently.The list was topped by Apple Computer, the maker of digital music player iPod and Mac personal Computers. In the list beverages hit Pepsi, run by Ms.Indra Nooyi has been placed higher than its arch rival Coca Cola.
The list rated PepsiCo at 13th position as against Coca-Cola at 19th spot. PepsiCo shares the 13th position with IT services major IBM. PepsiCo is the only company run by a person of Indian origin to be featured in the list.

This list of Most Admired Companies of top 20 was conducted by the Hay Group. The survey was conducted among 3721 executives, directors, and securities analysts. They chose the companies that ranked in the top 25 per cent in last year’s survey plus those that finished in the top 20 per cent of their industry.
These companies were ranked on the basis of eight key attributes- innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness long-term investment and quality of products/services.
